Job Description

Position Summary: The Health Services Administrator is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the delivery of healthcare in an organization or facility. They ensure that health services are efficient, effective, and meet the necessary regulatory standards while aligning with the organization's goals and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of the healthcare facility or department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans in line with the organization's mission and goals. Budget Management: Oversee financial operations, including budget preparation, resource allocation, and financial analysis to ensure fiscal responsibility. Staff Management: Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and mentor staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the healthcare facility operates within federal, state, and local regulations and maintains relevant licenses and accreditations. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance and improvement programs to maintain high standards of care. Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with medical staff, department heads, and external stakeholders such as vendors and partners. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, providers, and other stakeholders. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures that guide the organization's operations and ensure patient safety. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the facility's activities, financial status, and any other relevant metrics for senior management or boards.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous experience in healthcare management or administration. Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations, and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in relevant software tools and technologies.

Physical Requirements: Primarily an office-based role, requiring long periods of sitting and computer work. Occasional walking or standing, especially during facility tours or inspections.

Working Conditions: Generally works in an office within a healthcare facility, such as a hospital, clinic, or nursing home. May require occasional evening or weekend hours, especially during emergencies or critical situations.
