Job Description

Position Summary:

The General Practitioner (GP) serves as the first point of contact for patients seeking medical care. They diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of health conditions, illnesses, and injuries. GPs play a pivotal role in the healthcare system by offering preventive care, health education, and guidance while also referring patients to specialists when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Assessment: Conduct thorough examinations of patients to diagnose diseases, illnesses, or injuries.

  2. Treatment: Provide appropriate treatment and care for patients, including prescribing medications, giving health advice, and minor surgical procedures.

  3. Referrals: Refer patients to specialists when advanced care or expertise is required.

  4. Health Promotion: Offer advice and methods to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent illnesses.

  5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely patient records.

  6. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest medical research, treatments, and best practices.

  7. Collaboration: Work with other medical professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and specialists, to provide comprehensive care.

  8. Emergency Response: Respond to urgent and emergency medical situations promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Valid license to practice medicine in the respective region/state/country.

  • Completed residency or training in family medicine or related field.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Empathy and compassion towards patients.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Capability to perform clinical tasks such as examining patients, minor procedures, etc.

  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as writing prescriptions and using medical instruments.
